Important Details: Property Address: 761 Den Rd, Stamford Listing Price: $449,000 Status: CLOSED at $459,000, $10,000 above asking. Bedrooms: 4 | Bathrooms: 2 | Square Feet: 1,561 Charming Cape | Hardwood Floors | Level Yard | North Stamford Most of the major websites where we (Realtors) market our listings has one major flaw - the inability to hear the true story of a home, before a buyer enters the home. Here is that true story of 761 Den Rd, from my perspective. I am always pleased when I am able to list a home that is unique and unmatched in this real estate market. I say this because in North Stamford, under $500,000, there is nothing that can compare to 761 Den Road. Let’s visit it, together. ![]() The best part about arriving at this home, is how close it is to shopping and other necessities—and yet you get the feeling you are surrounded by nature with birds chirping, and family of deer grazing. The curb appeal is stunning—painted a green that match the evergreens, with roof lines typical of homes built in this pre-WW1 era. There is plenty of space to park in the driveway, and a 1-car detached garage. From here, you also notice the backyard, enclosed by a small fence to keep your family’s dog from leaving the property. This yard is somewhat flat and leads straight to the back patio and the kitchen. ![]() Back to the front, you step onto the flagstone stoop, and the front door, original to the home, already screams charming. Upon entering, a small closet and foyer greets you, followed by a large living room that connects directly to the dining room, with newly refinished hardwood floors. The living room centers around a stone fireplace, also built with the home. The right side of this space is likely an addition, enlarging the living room enough for an additional sitting space. The curvature of the doorways, the thick, real-wood trim around the windows and doors, all speak to the era of construction, throwing you back into the early 1900’s.The dining room, with built in cabinet continues to pull you in as you tour this home. At the back of the home is the kitchen on the left, stairs, bathroom, and bedrooms on the right. The kitchen is a railroad kitchen, with plenty of counter and cabinet space. It is an eat-in-kitchen, with place for a table, but what really sells the space here are the real-wood cabinets, all perfect for a home of this size. Going deeper past the kitchen, you arrive at the back door, leading to the back stone patio. This overlooks the quiet backyard, and the woods that surround the homes in this area. There is also a door down to an unfinished basement, home of the washer/dryer. ![]() The bonus den/office is also at the back of the first level, a cozy room with many windows, with natural light that streams in. You can get creative with this space, as some might want another eating area for family, a den, an office, or a playroom. There are two bedrooms on the main level, and a full bathroom in between. There are two bedrooms upstairs, and a full bathroom as well. One of the bedrooms might be more suitable as a nursery, but it can be considered a bonus space. The whole thing is cooled by central air conditioning, and warmed by forced hot air. For what most buyers are seeking in a home, 761 Den Rd has it—3-4 beds, 2 baths, living room, kitchen, dining room, basement, yard—all under $450,000. It doesn’t get better than this in Stamford, let alone North Stamford. Come settle in, and enjoy the in between of Stamford.
